v1.1.8: Lens of Truth

Lens of Truth

I've been disliking how the Tricky and Visionary bot don't quite follow the normal rules.

As such, a new core is being introduced:

Lens of Truth [44]
You can see your opponent's cards.
I expected perfect information to be worth way more than 3 hp compared to Pass.
In playtesting, it was not. One of the uses of information is seeing if you're opponent has burn you need to play around,
and having hp kind of just does that but better.
There are cases where information is worth more than 3hp, for example being able to make pushes with F7 knowing your opponent doesn't have AoE, but on average this starting life total seems balanced.

From now on, Tricky and Visionary will always use Lens of Truth (and you will not be able to see their cards unless you have the lens equipped yourself).

Lower AIs will never use Lens of Truth.

Glaives

A new splitline is being added to Banisher!

RankEffect
0Glaive Throw, Rank 0 [42]
@ lane. Attack enemy there. Repeat right (wraps) with 1 less power.
Lose 0 life.
3
1Lose 2 life.
5
2Lose 1 life.
6
3Lose 1 life.
7

Dev Comment: Note that this will wrap around and deal 1 more damage to the initial target.
Combine with spell power for extra fun.
4Glaive Ricochet
! Bouncing glaive attacks enemy creatures, losing 1 power per gap.
@ enemy for the first bounce.

Dev Comment: Unlike Glaive Throw, this only loses power when passing through empty lanes.
The value of this card can change wildly if your opponent plays an extra creature.
As such, despite doing some playtesting, I wasn't able to get a precise number for the balance.
It's been roughly balanced the best I can.

Balance Changes

Air Elemental (A11): ETB damage 7 -> 6

Titan (A12): hp 27 -> 26

Dev comment: Out of the A9/11/12 Triad, A9 was significantly underperforming the rest, at -3.22 sigma. Stats on W4 as well as personal feel suggested that the issue was A11 and A12 being too strong, instead of A9 being too weak. The nerf to A11 is more severe than the one to A12, as A11 was performing better, again both in stats and by feel.

Rifleman (Banisher 2): Cost 2 -> 4, but gains ETB: "3 damage to enemy creatures."

Dev Comment: Rifleman was severely underperforming, stats-wise. Designwise, it had some play pattern issues (the interaction with rank 1 missiles. as well how in some ways, its played around in the opposite way of the Banisher kit. Here's an attempt at a rework, though I may have to make some more changes to it next patch.)
