v1.5.7: Another Balance Patch
Bugfixes and AI Improvements
Improved the AI valuation of creatures slightly.
Fixed a bug causing Seraph, Lord of Judgement to display its old text.
Fixed a bug causing Blur Sliver to not work.
Fixed slivers incorrectly showing as a play effect instead of a passive effect.
On Blur Sliver
Blur Sliver was AI-balanced using the bug version. It has been nerfed 3/16 -> 3/13.
In addition, as Haste is a replacement effect and checked as the creature is created, technically speaking, it should not grant itself haste.
As such, it's passive text has been changed to the technically correct "Haste. Other aether creatures you control have haste."
Balance
This patch balances a few unintended interactions.
I'm happy with people finding unintended interactions and using cards in a way that I didn't think of. This issue is when the unintended interaction was too strong.
There were three decks that I was able to get 80% wr vs Visionary with, which is too strong. IndiHome Paket with the newly nerfed Philo stone is an example of an unintended interaction that was not found to be overpowered in playtesting, and as such will not receive a balance change.
Skeletons are receiving a bit of a rework. These are now token creatures, and cannot be included in your deck standalone. Their statline has been improved from 1/6 to 2/4.
Skeleton Army now reads:
! Summon X 2/4s, starting from target lane.
Target lane; enemy there takes 2 damage per skeleton that doesn't fit.
?
Dev comment: Going forwards, I will be templating cards as "Target lane; enemy there..." instead of "Target lane. Enemy there..."
The new power table:
Rank | [44] | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
Power | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 2+ | 3+ |
Elite Skeleton Army has been removed from the game.
Graveyard now makes the new skeletons, but has been adjusted [41] -> [37].
Rune of Harvesting now triggers for nontoken creatures instead of creatures with 2 or more attack. It's also been adjusted from [-13] to [-15].
Channel can now spend down to 1 life (formerly down to 0).
I've also adjusted Cloudkill, Rank 9 to have a life adjustment of -6 instead of dealing 9 damage to your creatures because I like how clean "Destroy enemy creatures." looks.
New Cards
Transfer Power [40]
Target ally; convert up to 2 of its power to aether.
Dev comment: I'll be trying to template attack as power going forwards.
Titan's Battalion (Neutral 12)
! Summon a Knight, Bishop, Queen, Titan, Bishop, and Knight in that order. Freeze the Queen.
Dev Comment: If you already have an occupied slot, the last Knight won't be summoned. If your creatures have haste somehow, all creatures except the Queen will be able to attack right away. Titan wasn't played, so its on-play effect will not trigger. Since all six of these units can be in your deck, all of them are considered nontoken.
More Slivers
I've heard that slivers are popular. Here's some more of them!
Gemhide Sliver (Neutral 5)
Start of Turn: +1 Aether per aether creature you control.
5/17
Bonescythe Sliver (5) 4/18 -> (6) 5/20
Reborn Sliver (Neutral 7)
When you summon this or another aether creature: Modify it with an extra life (max x99)
6/21
Get Aethermancer
Aethermancer
