v1.4.1: Your Math Party

Your Math Party

This update introduces the 8th set of Aethermancer: Your Math Party.

The cards in this set will be math-related in some way, but I'm going to gauge community reception to the designs to decide how far I'm going into the math.

Double Attack, Triple Attack, Square Attack, and Collatz Removal Spell are being moved into this set.

Creatures with Life Adjustments

Before this patch, only spells had life adjustments. If a creature was bit too good or a bit too weak, it could be balanced by changing its health a bit. Some of the designs from this patch can't be balanced this way.

Splitting

Some creatures can split, summoning on both sides on it. If either side can't be summoned in, it will summon a half on its own space. If both sides are occupied, too bad, you only get one half. Creatures summoned by a "split" instruction are unfrozen.

Split summons are put on the field at the end of a tick, so a creature can split into a space a dying creature is occupying.

A note on factorization

Some cards from this expansion refer to factors. What about numbers such as 0 or 1?

In Aethermancer, any number 1 or less is considered to only have one factor in its "prime factorization" - itself. Therefore, the "largest prime factor" of 1 is 1, and the "largest prime factor" of -8 is -8.

Any number 2 or greater has its prime factorization done the normal way.

Balance

With this in mind, and because the current Sage (A4) is doing quite badly in the stats, this update brings to you a reworked Sage to commemorate the launch of Your Math Party!

Stats: 3/15 -> 3/14

!: "Gain life equal to half your earth mana (rounded up)" -> "Gain life equal to the largest prime factor of your earth mana."

This effect will probably be with something more reasonable once people get tired of it.

To prevent some infinite games, Steel Reinforcement now has "Win at 8 charges." [48] -> [45]

Ritual of the Commander has still been underperforming. [40] -> [41]
