v0.9.9: Rethinking the Color Pie

Balance

Balance is looking really good right now.

Forbidden Construction is a bit overtuned currently, and more importantly, the gameplay patterns weren't really what I've had in mind when making the card. It's being replaced with high rank Flame Waves this update.

Color Pie Thoughts

I've been wanting to print an aether stone rain for a while now, but where? Stone Rain is a fairly impactful effect, and demands too much respect to be a neutral.

The obvious place is Warlord, where the sweepers live, but Warlord has a problem. Currently, Warlord shines when the board is full (Angel of War) and also when you've been pushed off the board (Divine Justice).

This puts your opponent in pins that a single class shouldn't be able to. As a result, we've moving the color pie around a bit.

Going forwards, Cleric will be the class that shines on full boards (AoE heal effects, even without damage, is already this to some extent.) Warlord effects will now primarily care about enemy boards, ranging from apathetic or harmful towards your own.

It might also be renamed Barbarian or something in the future.

As such, Angel of War and Crusade are being moved to Cleric.

New Cards

Continuing with the trend of ranked cards, this patch features Elemental Evocation, Flame Wave and Stone Rain as ranked cards, in evoker, warlord and warlord respectively. Greater Bolt and Cannonade are being removed this patch.
