A Templating Change
The production phase is a weird beast in Aethermancer. Why couldn't have simply been part of the start of turn phase?
Well, a long time ago, Aethermancer wasn't as clearly defined as it is today. There were some mages known as Pentamancers, who play with each of the five elements. But there were also other mage types planned. A mad hermit that also scales a rabbit. A high pyromancer with a particular affinity to fire spells. And a blind prophet who never produces aether, but produces more of every other energy. The first two proved to have design issues, and the third now exists as Dying Flame. (0s as a passive didn't exist back when the mage types were first envisioned.)
It would stand to reason each mage type would have their own production in a different way. Now that I'm confident that the Pentamancer is the only mage type that will ever exist, it's time to do away with mention of a production phase. As a result, Mind Master and Astral Guard are getting their templating changed. This is not a functional change, except for the corner case where someone somehow gets multiple Astral Guards in play.
The Roadmap
As I've said, I'm burnt out. Don't expect a patch for a week after this. Upcoming plans:
v0.9: Menu, (so you can play multiple times without having to reopen the client.)
v1.0: Replay saving, replay viewer.
Bug Fixes
Class Levels on cards are displayed for real this time.
AI no longer plays Inferno Tower on empty lanes.
Queuing with a non-existent unit no longer causes an infinite waiting loop.
Balance
"Wishful" and "Easy" AI make 50% more mistakes.
Pump has been removed from the game.
